Book Reading Activty

Reading books is an important habit that helps in gaining knowledge, improving language skills, and developing imagination. To encourage students to develop a reading habit, a Book Reading Activity was organized in our institution.
The main aim of the activity was to promote interest in reading among students and to improve their vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills. In this activity students were asked to read English textbook story of their interest. After reading students shared summaries and discussed the moral of the story.

Learning English by watching English videos.

An activity with B.Sc III Year students.
In today’s digital age, learning English has become easier and more interesting through various online resources. One of the most effective methods is learning English by watching English videos such as movies, educational clips, news channels, YouTube lessons, and interviews. This method helps learners improve language skills in an enjoyable way. 
The main aim of this activity was to enhance students’ listening, speaking, pronunciation, and vocabulary skills. It also helped students understand real-life usage of English language in different situations. This type of activity Improved listening skills, better pronunciation and accent, increase vocabulary, improve confidence in speaking English and also better understanding of grammar in real context.

 

EXPERT LECTURE

Guest Lecture Program was conducted by the Department of English at Govt.L.C.S.College, Ambagarh Chowki on 5th Dec 2022 and Chief Guest Mrs.Manjari Singh, Assistant Professor English, Govt.Digvijay College has taken a lecture on topic "Interview Skills" for the students of our college.

Expert Lecture

The Department of English successfully organized a Guest Lecturer Programme . The objective of the programme was to enhance students’ academic knowledge and expose them to new perspectives in English literature and language studies.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Niresh Kurre who highlighted the importance of guest lectures in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical knowledge. The chief guest, Mr Dhanesh Sinha a renowned scholar and expert in Spoekn English, was felicitated by the department.
Students actively participated in the discussion and raised several questions, which were patiently answered by the guest lecturer. The session proved to be highly beneficial, motivating students to explore English language and literature more deeply and develop critical thinking skills.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs Anjali Kunjam expressing gratitude to the guest lecturer, faculty members, and students for their active involvement.
Overall, the Guest Lecturer Programme was a great success and enriched the academic environment of the English Department.

BOOK RELEASE

The motivational class managed by Department of English  at Govt L.C.S. College Ambagarh Chowki . The Chief Speaker was Shri Y.K.Tiwari and retire principal and incharge principal Shiksha parishar Ambagarh Chowki by sharing his life experience with gathering students he motivated them to accept English language in advance and easy language for new generation.
The newspaper reading activity was organized to develop reading habits among students and to improve their language skills and general awareness. The program aimed to encourage students to stay informed about current affairs and enhance their vocabulary and comprehension.
The program started with a brief introduction by HOD,  highlighting the importance of reading newspapers in daily life. Students were provided with newspapers and asked to read selected articles related to education, environment, health, and national news. After the reading session, students participated in group discussions where they shared their views and summarized the articles. 
The Department of English organized an extension activity with the objective of enhancing English language skills and spreading awareness about the importance of communication in today’s world. The program aimed to reach out to students beyond the classroom. The objectives of this activity is to improve spoken and written English skills, build confidence in communication, create awareness about the importance of English in education and career, and to encourage interactive learning with fun and wander.
